The only thing different from what Andrea posted was that Alan and I woke up at 4 AM not 4:30. How did she do that and get a baby ready?!!

Plus something we learned about Texas, well not learned so much as experienced, was their
HUMIDITY!!! Holy Moly it was hot and wet! I will take our St George dry heat anyday.

Obviously I am Not a fan of the camera...plus did I mention it was hot and humid?!

First order of business was getting us some good Texas BBQ.

 Loved our free fireworks show. It ended up being more like a work out though, as Jason parked far away and the walk back to the car was more of a power walk/run. At least a couple miles or more...in the humid night air.

Looking forward to our next weekend adventure. DC is still on our list of places to go and things to see. But then if you didn't read about our change of plans from Andrea's post, you will have no idea what I am talking about :)

It doesn't so much matter where we go, but who we go with (and the FOOD of course!). 

Life is truely an adventure. 

Summer activities...so far

I LOVE my Summer vacation time!

The other day Brittany told us about a Farm out in Hurricane that you can go and pick your own cherries for $1.00 a pound. So we headed out for a fun FHE. The kids loved climbing the tree to reach the beautiful red cherries.

We all had a blast!

After you picked what you wanted, you took your bags over to a barn/green house (where they grow plants) and weighed your fruit then deposited your money into the cash box. I couldn't believe they left the cash box unattended and just trusted everyone to weigh and pay. There was no one around to watch us. Now that is trusting.

Thank Goodness there are still good people around.

No pictures of the cherry trees or us picking and eating them (yes we tried to keep into account what we ate when we paid for them.

All I have is a picture of my very first attempt at canning Cherries.

This is @ 13 pounds worth.

Spring Break

What I did on my Spring break so far...

Well at least on Tuesday.

14 bottles of chicken.

Brittany found some chicken on sale awhile ago and snatched it up and put it in my freezer, waiting for me to have some free time to do it. Oh, I mean to teach her how :)

too bad she showed up after I had finished.

 Tuesday was the day set aside for THE camp out.

Tin foil dinners, tents and sleeping bags.

The kids had a blast.

Brittany and her 4 kids and Tiffany and Cameron and their 4 kids were brave enough to set up tents and sleep over. The rest headed home due to work the next day :(

Andrea sold her beautiful Acura TL whatever the top of the line is called. You know the kind with the camera that shows you a picture of what is behind you?! That was Brittany's favorite thing :)

Anyway, She sold it and Jason bought this thing ($500) for him to go to and from work, so Andrea could drive his car. That's True Love!

 It was brand new the same year he was born and he Loves it!
