Summer activities...so far

I LOVE my Summer vacation time!
The other day Brittany told us about a Farm out in Hurricane that you can go and pick your own cherries for $1.00 a pound. So we headed out for a fun FHE. The kids loved climbing the tree to reach the beautiful red cherries.
We all had a blast!

After you picked what you wanted, you took your bags over to a barn/green house (where they grow plants) and weighed your fruit then deposited your money into the cash box. I couldn't believe they left the cash box unattended and just trusted everyone to weigh and pay. There was no one around to watch us. Now that is trusting.
Thank Goodness there are still good people around.

No pictures of the cherry trees or us picking and eating them (yes we tried to keep into account what we ate when we paid for them.

All I have is a picture of my very first attempt at canning Cherries.
This is @ 13 pounds worth.

PRETTY AREN'T THEY?!!
They will make a nice addition to my shelves.

TIP OF THE DAY
How to pit a cherry...
Every wondered how to pit a cherry without buying a little machine to do it?
I googled HOW TO and came up with the easiest and cheapest way ever!
