Being in the right place at the right time!

Alan and I headed to the store the other day with a list in hand. We had specific things we needed and had forgotten to get them on our previous trip a day or so earlier. Yes they are an odd collection, but were much needed.

Milk (how dare we be low when the kids

come over and want a glass full),

lemon cleaner (it was time to clean the floor),
comet (I had been canning chicken and I
needed to disinfect my sink),
Labels (to label the jars of chicken)
Cloves (for the chocolate zucchini cake YUM!)

See what additional items we came home with...

Fruit Leather (13 boxes)

cereal (46 boxes)

Hawaiian Punch (12)

Slim Fast (9 boxes)
Bay Leaves (4 packs)
Sesame Seeds (5 packs)
Dried Chili Pods (5 bags)
ETC....

That would be 122 items to be exact. And a Whopping $143.96. Now I'm no mathematician.

But my calculator tells me that it works out to be @$1.18 each.

Cereal reg. $2.58/$2.34 SALE .50/ .75 / $1.00 / $1.25

Gatorade reg. $1.00 SALE .50

Fruit Leather reg. $2.44 SALE .25

Hawaiian Punch reg. $1.98 SALE $1.00

Slim Fast reg. $12.88 SALE $4.00

Sesame Seeds reg. .84 SALE .25

Chili Pods reg. 2.00 SALE .25

Bay Leaves reg. .84 SALE .25

Watermelon reg $4.50 SALE $2.88

Cantaloupe reg. $1.78 SALE $1.25

I Love Good Deals!
and

I LOVE FOOD STORAGE.

Apparently, the Cocoa Puffs cereal said there was 5, 10 and 20 dollar gift cards in random boxes. Well after coming home with all the groceries that day. I gave some to a few of the kids. And...I guess we won a $5 gift card in one of the boxes that I sent home with them.

SCORE!

It was at Wal Mart. Just a random experience though. We tried to go back several times and even tried another Wal Mart. Alan and I chalk it up to a spiritual experience that I wont go into. The girls that were stocking the shelves said they were getting ready for inventory, and just getting rid of a few things. Also nothing was old or near experation either, cause I checked just assuming that was why it was cheap. Nope, just a blessing:)
