My Best Friend is turning 53 on Friday. How could that possible be. When we first met he was 16 and I was 14. A lot has happened over the past 37 years. Mission, marriage, 5 children, moves, 4 grandchildren (2 on the way), trials and triumphs. And I still wouldn't choose anyone else to do it all over again with.
On a wall in our home I have a picture of two teddy bears and it says "Best Friends". Surrounding that picture are pictures of Alan and I, Tiffany and Cameron, Heather and Brandon, Brittany and Jeff, (and one on an ajoining wall of Mallory and Dean...silly Mallory). As I think about each of those couples, I am so happy that my girls have followed in their parents footsteps and married their BEST FRIEND too. Each day we pray that our 2 remaining children will find that same happiness.
Some things you may not know about Alan...
He is an avid reader.
He plays basketball 2 times a week...for 2 hours.
He loves to garden.
He just planted a grove of peach trees (over 20) in our backyard, thinking of Joseph Smith the whole time.
He is Papa to our grandchildren. They will pass by me in search of him everytime.
He is Obedient and loves the scriptures.
He ran the St George Marathon when he was 40.
He played John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever for a ward road show in 1980 something.
He played Tevia in Fiddler on the roof for another ward road show in 1990 something.
He is Amazing!
I don't enjoy taking pictures.
Apparently our children do.

Oh my gosh I am so fat in that picture! I had just had Jay Jay! but I love the post, it was way over due!
