You wouldn't believe it if I told ya...so Iwill Show you!
So Jason has a fascination with buying chickens. First he and Andrea showed up with 20 brand new babies. Which we had to care for inside the house for a couple of weeks. Now he is finding laying hens for sale on Craig's list and boy are they multiplying!!! I believe we are at 42 right now. OK lift your jaw off the floor.
The problem is, they don't do real well every time you introduce new chickens in the coop. So days go by without any eggs. Anyway, there was one chicken that was suffering. It looked like an egg was stuck inside it or something. Hey we eat the eggs, what do we know about this kind of stuff.
SO, Andrea's mom is here visiting them and we all got this idea that we could help this poor suffering chicken. So Alan went out and got the chicken and brought it up to the patio under a light and I went in and got some latex gloves and coconut oil.
Since Andrea had the smallest fingers we elected her to go fish around and see what she could do.
I have Proof!!
warning...graphic pictures ahead
Andrea is usual on the couch and dry heaving all day since she is pregnant. And look at her. We were SO proud of her!
Alan is holding the chicken while Andrea plays doctor. It was AMAZING how calm the chicken was the whole time.
The chicken nearly fell asleep on Alan's lap. The whole thing must have been a huge relief and very calming for it.
I know this picture looks like Andrea is being a little eager, but trust me, she was just doing all she could Not to throw up and Not to hate us all for prodding her on and begging her to save the chickens life.
I can't wait to see how the chicken is in the morning. I think Andrea may have saved its life. We may have to let her name it. She kept telling us she was a hairdresser, Not a veterinarian! I laughed until I cried, I doubt she found as much humor in it as the rest of us.

Gag
yea it was disgusting! hahahaha! and I CAN NOT belive andrea did it either!
I am grateful our chickens aren't that hard! We did loose one, our rooster to some creature and another just mid day we found dead in the coop but other than that we get between 7-9 eggs and we are happy! Good luck with yours. So fun to see how everyone is.
