FHE

I have memories of trying to have a Family Home Evening with a young family. Emphasis on trying! These were the common phrases as a parent.
Are you listening? Why am I having to yell to be heard over everyone? What did I just say? .....

Memories....were repeated tonight as we tried to hold a conversation with THIS sitting on the couch.
This is what FOUR hormonal women look like. They may look innocent and harmless and sure there is plenty to laugh about because they say and do ridiculous things. Lets  just say, they are not their normal self.  So Family Home Evening ended up being a few songs and a poor attempt at an adult spiritual conversation. Just think, a few more weeks and we will be able to add Mallory to the couch too !

Brittany (8 months),  Mallory, not in picture (7 months), Sarah- the friend who  delivered an hour apart with Heather with their last babies (9 weeks),  Heather (8 weeks),  Andrea (8 weeks).

We tried to discuss a family motto or family value that we could live by. In between laughter, moaning, groaning and complaining. There were a few suggestions. After hearing a gentleman in fast and testimony mention that his family motto was "Believing Blood", I threw that one out. Blood was not a word that settled well for a few of the nauseated mother's to be. So we went on with other suggestions. Tiffany suggested, "Eternal Perspective". That makes sense, cause among all the commotion, noise and nausea. If we look forward with Eternal Perspective, it will ALL be worth it. It certainly was for Alan and I.

you were never normal! AND it was Brandon who suggested Eternal Perspective. I know it was probably hard to remember Brandon being the one to add a non sarcastic remark to the family conversation but it actually was him! not tiffany. :)

Good one Heather. I guess you were listening. I believe Tiffany is the one who suggested "We can do hard things". That certainly is what we all tend to be doing already. Thanks Brandon.
