It pays to have connections...Last weekend we were able to go to the mountains of Salina. When I say WE, I mean, all 12 adults and All 8 grandchildren.



We had promised to do a little clearing of the dead trees and cut up some firewood.



This is the before pile...well not really. Minus the new looking logs and then that was the before pile. It took me a minute to go get my camera. High altitude is something else!

This is Jeff attempting to chop down the tree "boy scout" style. mainly cause there was only 1 working chain saw.

Proof that princess Andy CAN do manual labor. She says that she needed to prove to Jason that she IS ready to renovate her own home. Sooner, then later that is.

The AFTER picture of the wood pile. I took this from a distance off the balcony of the 2nd story. It is bigger isn't it?! I swear it felt like we did a whole lot more then that. It probably was a least 4 or 5 dead trees. We all voted that you can never have too much firewood. But then we are freaks like that.

and...Summer meets Winter...a bit of a mixed message outfit. Good thing we were in the middle of NO WHERE as we never saw another living soul around. Mainly cause the nearest house was probably a mile or more away.....Ya, it was pretty awesome!

We worked hard, played harder and laughed until we cried. If laughter is the best medicine,I'm sure we cured cancer that weekend.
