A Garden Tour...

Several months ago Jason started a bunch of vegetable seeds indoors. He tended and loved them like a mother Hen.

Then a few months ago Jason and Alan transplanted them into our outside garden. The weather was still cold then so Alan enclosed the whole garden in thick plastic to create a green house effect. It was fun to have such a large place to go into and see all of their efforts thrive.

Then the winds came and were beating the plastic to death. It did a good job of protecting our plants and vegetables.

With the weather warming up Alan decided it was time to unveil the garden and let it enjoy the sunshine. So yesterday was the day...

Hope you enjoy the garden tour...
The lattice cover he put up at the end of last year is giving just the right amount of shade so far.

The far left is corn. It was starting to shoot out the top. In front of the corn on the left are the tomatoes. There are over 100 green ones just waiting to turn red!

In the front middle are the strawberries. It reminds us of our days in California picking them out in the fields after the real pickers were done for the season. There was always a Ton left when they finished and opened it up to the neighboring home owners to pick for free. We always made a lot of jam after we picked them.

The corn and tomatoes needed to be staked up and kept together when the winds came through.

The pea pods in the back left corner are producing so nice. We love them in our salads. I go out with scissors in hand to cut spinach, beet greens, cilantro, green onions and pea pods for our salad. Soon we will have bell peppers and tomatoes to add to it.

Thanks for enduring the garden tour. My City farmer is having the time of his life in his back yard.

Wow! My mouth watered as you described picking the peas and making salad! Thanks for sharing and showing that it can be done! We will keep trying!
